Bookkeeper

Lake Parsippany Property Owners Association has an opening for a Part Time Bookkeeper. Associates in this position are responsible for maintaining records of business transactions such as general ledger, cost accounting, reconciliations, membership and month-end close. The Bookkeeper will balance ledgers, reconcile accounts, assist with membership management, and prepare reports. 

Responsibilities  

  • Perform basic and routine accounting functions
  • Pay regular monthly bills  
  • Assist treasurer in the collection of all membership fees
  • Reconcile banking receipts and post EFT’s
  • Post journal entries
  • Track invoices, bills, and other financial / inventory related data
  • Run reports as needed
  • Handle miscellaneous clerical tasks as assigned

Applicant must demonstrate good administration and coordination skills, basic accounting skills, knowledge of routine accounting functions, and good computer skills. Our ideal candidate will be highly organized,  able to work independently with minimal supervision, and have a sharp eye for details.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of recent bookkeeping experience required
  • Knowledge of common PC applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
  • Experience with QuickBooks a plus.
  • Excellent  communication skills.
  • Well organized and solution oriented, with attention to detail.
  • Efficient, productive and works well individually 
  • Associate's degree in accounting or bookkeeping preferred
