Lake Parsippany is 2005 Hub Lakes Men’s Softball Champs!!!

Our team has won the championship the last 2 years and 3 of the last 4.  Thanks to all the fans who supported them in 2005, especially those who braved the 100+ degree heat during the championship game.

In a show of dominant pitching and power hitting Lake Parsippany won the 2005 Hub Lakes Men’s fast-pitch softball title with a 6-0 victory over Indian Lake on Sunday August 14th.  The team was led by the pitching of Mark “Chubbs” Crystal who threw a 3 hit shutout, and Jon “Country” Brinson who hit (2) 2 run home runs to lead the offense while suffering with severe flu-like symptoms during the game.

Skipper Mike Fazzio led the squad through a demanding schedule that saw the team suffer several injuries during the year.  Captain Rob “Stitches” Gibilisco played the last 3 games with several lacerations on both hands and yet still finished with a .903 slugging percentage.  Also leading the offense were Al Chambers, Guy Bettelli and Dave Gerardi Sr. who all finished with batting averages above the .520 mark.

Key performance at both the plate and in the field were turned in by Paul Suarez, Steve Rudolph, Frank Ambrosino, Dan O’Connor, Bob Adamo, Greg Marone, Mark Verile and Paul Crystal.  The team showed incredible strength in depth while finishing the year with a 9-1 record.  When key players were injured during the year Carlos Gonzales, Carlos Picado and Dave Gerardi Jr. all filled in and showed the talent that would have them start on most teams in the league.

Lake Parsippany is also 2004 Hub Lakes Men’s Softball Champs
